Laura and Mason had a beautifully elegant wedding day. Located within the breathtaking hills of Santa Ynez Valley, these two tied the knot at the lovely Old Mission Santa Ines. The reception was to follow at the gorgeous Sunstone Winery. They kept the details simple with neutral colors and took in the beauty from these wonderful locations. Michael and Anna Costa were there to capture all the details and laughs from this couples magical day. Enjoy!

Girl Meets Boy…

Mason and I met in the summer before his senior year and my junior year of high school through a mutual friend. He asked me out three times before I reluctantly agreed, and for our first date he took me swing dancing. I decided I liked him a little bit. On our second date, he took me to see the movie “Ever After.” I decided I liked him a lot. We became inseparable. We spent a short time apart during college, but I never got over my high school sweetheart.

Fourteen years later, Mason unexpectedly proposed in our dining room on a Sunday morning. He got down on one knee, held out a ring, and said, “will you marry me?” I responded, “thank you!” He correctly assumed that meant “yes.”

Wedding Planning Inspiration…

As an interior designer, I was naturally very excited about the design of the wedding. The design inspiration came largely from my Jenny Packham wedding gown: romantic with a touch of vintage. A soft, neutral palette against the beautiful stone of the Villa, along with the amazing vineyard views, set the mood for an unforgettable evening.

Color Palet…

We chose a soft, neutral, romantic palette of pale pink, peach, and white.

Details…

Food and wine were a top priority for us. After two tastings with Duo Catering, we finally nailed down the menu that had a “gourmet comfort food” concept. The deep fried poached egg that accompanied the salad course was by far my favorite item of the night! The wine came from our favorite winery — Sunstone!

I was also very excited (and nervous!) for our first dance. I always love a choreographed bride and groom dance so of course had to do one at my own wedding. We performed a folk style dance to Alexander’s “A Million Years.”

Memorable Moments…

We never got to taste our wedding cake! We had a spread of desserts laid out for our guests and the wedding cake was placed on the same table. Since it was a single tiered German chocolate cake (the groom’s favorite), the guests did not recognize it as a wedding cake and began to cut and serve slices for themselves. By the time we heard about it, the cake had all been eaten.

RADDEST Wedding Vendors…

Joy Proctor of Joy de Vivre. I completely relied on her throughout the entire planning process, and I have her to thank for such a beautiful and perfect day. When my husband thanked her in his speech during the reception, I burst into tears!

Michael Costa did an amazing job capturing the day. The wedding photos we have to look back on are gorgeous.
